The Story of Benny

Last Updated: October 26, 2015

Rescuer: Walton Salley at salleyw@bellsouth.net

Here is Benny's story, in the words of his rescuer:

"Meet Benny, the heartbreaker. Benny is a beautiful sable Pembroke Welsh Corgi who was found by a kind man in the middle of a thunderstorm. He was lying in the street, and his rescuer stopped his truck and called out to him. Of course, Benny knew that his options were limited, and this man was so nice to him, so off they went. After no one came forward to claim him, Benny settled into his new home. But his rescuer already had several dogs, and some of them were quite large. And while the man wanted to keep Benny, he realized it would be best if he went into rescue, for he had many health needs.

"And so Benny made his way south to Georgia to his foster home. His rescuer told his foster mom how wonderful he was, and that she would want to keep him. And, of course, he was correct. However, his foster mom has three other corgis, and Benny doesn’t want to share his mom with the others.

"It is obvious that Benny was loved in an earlier stage of his life. He is very well behaved, responds well to correction, and is housebroken. He does not like thundershowers and rain, and will not go outside if it is raining."

Benny is a very itchy dog. He has many continuing skin issues.

CorgiAid supporters have helped Benny get the medical care necessary for stabilizing his condition, and are helping Benny with continuing cost of his medications and special shampoo. Thank you for helping Benny be comfortable in his own skin!

Benny was rescued in South Carolina.

This dog is not available for adoption.
